Friday Gimmick
I just want to share this pic from last Friday's gimmick. I went out with my housemates. My body was already screaming SLEEP that time but I still decided to go because I made a commitment. By 2 am on Saturday, we were still out and my eyeballs wanted to pop out of the socket--that was how it felt. I nearly threw up. As soon as we reached the dorm, I changed clothes immediately and slept. Diet + lack of sleep + lack of water + stress = sick Jassy. But I feel better now. Still with lots of work to be done this week but at least I know that I'll be able to do it all this week. :)
Going back to the picture, I just discovered panorama function on my camera phone just last Friday. I was happy and excited to try it on other subjects like me and E.
Today, I have crackers and iced tea for breakfast. 2 medium bananas for lunch. My stomach is grumbling as I type this, but I think I can still handle it. A few more hours and E will be here and we can have dinner then.
Funny thing happened today. I was home in Lipa City this morning. I woke up early so I could catch the early bus to Manila. I arrived in Manila an hour earlier than my official work hour. I did my usual routine before going to work. When I arrived at the office, I did my usual morning routine before doing my work. Good thing I decided to look at our schedule to see who were on duty today. I was surprised to see that I was supposed to be off-duty today. I was relieved and felt kinda silly for not checking the schedule last Friday. It was a blessing in disguise though because I still had a lot of school work to finish. I decided to just take the day off and do my assignments.
Shopping
Last night I was watching several movies when my brother arrived from his PM duty. He immediately opened the set of knives and scissors he and Mom purchased from home tv shopping. He was excited to use the knives. I guess he was looking forward to cooking. I asked him why did they order those and he told me that Mom saw the ad on tv. Ang Mommy talaga kung anong mahiligan.=)
Christmas Rebel
When I was a kid, we used to live outside the base. My Dad was a soldier and we could have lived inside the base but we were living outside that time. But we did get to live inside months later. I think I was 7 and my brother was 5 when my Dad brought me and my brother to the yearly christmas party of the soldiers and their family. Before Dad brought my brother and me at their squadron we had to drop by Dad's sleeping quarter (he slept there when it was too late to go to our house). That time Honasan was making the news with his idealism and everything and so soldiers have a bad reputation. I was outside waiting for him with my brother when a group of soldiers with the helmet the same as the "rebels" I saw on tv came running towards us. I quickly assumed that they were rebels because they were running and looking angry ( I think they were frowning). I got so scared. I commanded my younger brother to run to our father to ask for help. He asked why and I told him "Rebelde!" He immediately ran. I tried to run but tripped and the fear got the better of me. I stood up while crying for Dad's help. My father came out immediately with my brother and he laughed seeing soldiers in training running towards us. He then told me that they were not rebels but real soldiers and they were not there to harm us. Some of these soldiers even greeted my father as they ran past us.
When we got back home, he told my mother what happened and they just laughed at what I did. I didn't know what to feel but I was not ashamed. I was confused. How could I tell the rebels from the real soldiers? They told me some explanation that I did not really understand but I did not bother to ask some more as my mind was filled by other thoughts.
